Product Overview

SET-CAPD 250V / 280V / 300V low-voltage power capacitors are designed for indoor AC power systems below 1000V. They supply reactive power locally, improve power factor and reduce unnecessary current, cable losses and transformer loading. Designed for detuned compensation panels and systems where the capacitor operating voltage rises because of a series reactor.

The cylindrical aluminium housing combines compact installation with reliable heat dissipation. Metallized polypropylene film provides low dielectric loss and self-healing performance. A built-in discharge resistor and over-pressure disconnector add essential operating protection for capacitor-bank service.

Why Choose SET-CAPD

Low-loss self-healing film

High-reliability metallized polypropylene insulation limits temperature rise and restores small dielectric weak points during normal service.

Integrated safety protection

Over-pressure protection disconnects the element at end of life, while the internal resistor discharges residual voltage after switching off.

Flexible bank design

Multiple kVAR steps support automatic power-factor correction panels, fixed compensation and custom capacitor-bank combinations.

Industrial durability

Rated for indoor operation from −25°C to +50°C and installation altitudes up to 2000m.

Typical Applications

  • Automatic power-factor correction (APFC) panels
  • Centralized and local compensation in factories and commercial buildings
  • Motor, transformer and distribution-system reactive-power compensation
  • Detuned capacitor banks used with series reactors
  • Power-quality upgrades that reduce current and release transformer capacity

Installation & Operation Notes

  • Install upright in a dry, ventilated indoor enclosure with more than 30mm clearance between units.
  • Select a capacitor rated voltage at least 5% above the system nominal voltage.
  • For series-reactor systems, calculate the actual capacitor terminal voltage using the reactor ratio.
  • Where harmonics are present, use a correctly designed detuned reactor or harmonic-mitigation solution.
  • Keep the switching interval at 60 seconds or longer. After disconnection, wait at least 5 minutes and short the terminals before maintenance.
