A capacitor bank quote, AHF quote or SVG quote is useful only when the equipment matches the real network. A transformer rating and a short description such as “THDi is high” are rarely enough. Providing a structured data package helps the supplier select the correct voltage class, current or kvar rating, line arrangement, enclosure and control method without repeated questions.
| Information | Example | Why it is needed |
|---|---|---|
| Country and installation site | Factory, data center, solar plant | Defines environment and local project requirements |
| System voltage and frequency | 400V 50Hz or 480V 60Hz | Defines the electrical platform |
| Line arrangement | 3P3W or 3P4W | Identifies neutral-current and balancing needs |
| Transformer data | kVA, impedance, secondary voltage | Supports system-strength and current checks |
| Single-line diagram | Main bus, feeders, existing banks | Shows connection and CT locations |
| Load schedule | kW, current, operating sequence | Shows diversity and growth |
Do not size an AHF from THDi percentage alone. Use measured harmonic amperes and review the AHF sizing guide.
Where harmonics are present, include a resonance assessment. The capacitor-bank failure guide explains why a simple kvar replacement can be risky.

Include clear pictures of the nameplates, main switchboard, available installation space, cable entry, CT location and ventilation path. Remove confidential information where required. A short video of the load sequence can also explain rapid changes that a static report misses.
State the measurement point, operating condition and target values in the request for quotation. Agree on what will be checked during factory testing and after commissioning. This turns a product purchase into a measurable power quality project.
Require every supplier to state the assumed voltage, frequency, wiring arrangement, transformer data, measurement point and operating load. The AHF quotation should show continuous compensation current, harmonic orders, CT arrangement and expected residual performance. The SVG quotation should define dynamic kVAR duty, imbalance correction and response time. A capacitor bank quote should state step sizes, switching method, capacitor voltage rating, reactor tuning and protection.
Compare enclosure rating, ambient-temperature capability, heat loss, communication, spare capacity, commissioning scope and warranty on one table. Attach the same analyzer export and single-line diagram to every request so prices refer to the same duty. If compliance is part of the purchase, define the acceptance test and reference the applicable IEEE 519 information. A complete capacitor bank quote checklist reduces commercial ambiguity and prevents undersized equipment.
A preliminary concept may be possible from load and transformer data, but final AHF sizing should use measured harmonic current.
PDF reports, spreadsheets, waveform exports, photos and the single-line diagram are all useful. Native analyzer exports are valuable when available.
Provide the planned load, timing and uncertainty. The engineering team can compare spare capacity with a modular expansion plan.
Prepare the data above and send it to Elumotive. A structured request allows the engineering team to respond with a clearer AHF, SVG, capacitor-bank or hybrid recommendation.
